Política de Uso de Inteligencia Artificial
Revista Transformar's Policy on Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Revista Transformar acknowledges the growing impact of artificial intelligence (AI) in academic and editorial domains. Consequently, a specific policy has been established to regulate the responsible and ethical use of AI tools in the drafting, review, and publication of scientific articles. This policy is inspired by the recommendations of international organizations such as the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and follows best practices in academic ethics.
Declaration of AI Use
Authors who use AI-based tools (e.g., for writing, translation, data analysis, or content generation) must explicitly disclose their use in the "Methods" or "Acknowledgments" section of the manuscript. This includes, but is not limited to:
• Text generation tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Bard).
• AI-powered data analysis or visualization software.
• Automated translation platforms or AI-assisted grammar-checking tools.
Limits of AI Use
AI use must complement, not replace, the intellectual, critical, and creative contribution of the authors. Specifically:
• Writing and Content: AI tools should not serve as the sole source for generating ideas or drafting content.
• Ethics and Originality: All AI-generated or AI-assisted content must be thoroughly reviewed to ensure it does not infringe copyrights or involve plagiarism.
• Data Interpretation: Conclusions and analyses must be conducted by the authors, not by AI algorithms.
Authors' Responsibilities
Authors are responsible for:
• Verifying the accuracy and reliability of any AI-generated content.
• Ensuring that AI use complies with ethical standards, regulations, and intellectual property rights.
• Taking full responsibility for the content of the articles, even when AI tools are employed during the process.
AI Use by the Journal
Revista Transformar may use AI-based tools to support editorial tasks, such as:
• Detecting plagiarism and verifying originality.
• Conducting preliminary technical reviews (e.g., grammar, formatting).
• Identifying potential reviewers through matching algorithms.
In no case will these tools replace human judgment in editorial decision-making.
Transparency and Ethics
Any use of AI, whether by authors or the journal, must be conducted transparently. Readers will be informed about how AI tools were used during the creation, review, or publication processes of the articles.
Reference
This policy is based on practices suggested by COPE and incorporates ethical principles similar to those established by academic publishers such as Springer Nature and Elsevier.
Validity and Updates
This policy will be reviewed and updated periodically to reflect advancements in AI technology and ethical standards in academic publishing.
