Transformar Journal is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and transparency in the publication of its content. Therefore, the following policy has been established for the retraction of articles, applicable when significant issues affecting the reliability or ethics of the published material are identified.

1. Criteria for Retraction

An article may be retracted from the journal in the following cases:

  • Conclusive evidence that the data is falsified, manipulated, or erroneous, affecting the validity of the results.
  • Significant plagiarism or self-plagiarism detected in the content.
  • Redundant or duplicate publication without proper disclosure or permission.
  • Serious ethical conflicts, such as failure to obtain informed consent, copyright infringement, or non-compliance with research ethics standards.
  • Author request due to substantial errors not identified during the peer-review process.

2. Retraction Process

  1. Initial Evaluation: When a retraction request is received, or a potential issue is identified, the editorial team will thoroughly investigate the situation, consulting with reviewers and external experts as necessary.
  2. Communication with Authors: The authors will be informed of the reasons for the potential retraction and given the opportunity to respond or clarify the concerns raised.
  3. Final Decision: Based on the evidence and consultations, the editorial committee will make a final decision regarding the retraction. This decision will be documented and communicated to both the authors and readers.

3. Retraction Implementation

  • Article Marking: The article will remain accessible on the journal’s platform but will be clearly marked as "Retracted." An explanatory note will be included on the article's first page and in the search system, indicating the reasons for the retraction.
  • Public Notification: The journal will issue an official retraction notice in the corresponding volume and issue, explaining the reasons for the decision and the steps taken.

4. Impact on the Academic Record

Transformar Journal follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to ensure that the academic record is as transparent and accurate as possible. Retraction aims to correct the scientific record, not to punish the authors.

5. Policy Review

This policy will be reviewed and updated regularly to align with international best practices in editorial ethics.

Important Note on Manuscript Withdrawal
Once submitted to Revista Transformar, a manuscript may not be withdrawn unilaterally at the author's discretion. Withdrawal requests will only be considered under exceptional circumstances and must be formally justified to the Editorial Committee, which will evaluate each case in accordance with the journal's ethical and editorial guidelines. This policy is intended to ensure respect for the work of the editorial and review teams, as well as the responsible use of institutional resources involved in the evaluation process.
